MOMENTAUFNAHME: Sound Scrapes

for BassCello, drill and interactive electronics (UA)

In the event, which is designed as an “acoustic performance”, the musician, sound designer and performance artist Ulrich Maiß a.k.a Cellectric reacts to the current exhibition of the Kunstverein with compositional and improvisational means. To this end, he uses interactive electronics alongside acoustic and electric instruments. Everyday sounds and musical phrases interweave in an exchange with the space. Space and time open up anew. A snapshot.

His composition “Sound Scrapes” is inspired by the duo show “Curvy Coast”. Based on the working methods of Sascha Brylla and Robert Kraiss, in “Sound Scrapes” multi-layered stable (sound) surfaces are created and then broken through. A wide variety of material is subjected to a handcrafted acoustic treatment.

The performance will be followed by an artist talk.
